Dieser sollte uns auf \u00fcber 10000ft auf den Wheelers Peak bringen. Der H\u00f6henverlauf sieht entsprechend aus:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/20090920-225850_20090920-225850_2_Grafik2D5B25D.png\" width=\"640\" height=\"138\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Gleich am Eingang des NPs ist der alles \u00fcberragende Wheelers Peak zu sehen:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2383_2388_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"230\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Nach dem ersten Anstieg kann man auf einen kleinen Aussichtsparkplatz rausfahren. Dort steht ein Picknicktisch, der \u00fcberraschend voll rollstuhltauglich ist; da hat Europa noch viel zu lernen:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2394_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die Aussicht vom Parkplatz ist auch nicht schlecht:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2395_2402_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"224\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Dieses Jahr ist es in der Gegend schon k\u00fchler als letztes Jahr um die Zeit. Daher wundert es wenig, da\u00df auf \u00fcber 3000m die B\u00e4ume gelb werden:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2423_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2426_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Nach einer knappen Stunde Fahrt ist man auch schon oben am Gipfel der Aussichtsstra\u00dfe (nicht am Gipfel des Peaks). Dort hat der Campingplatz noch offen, aber als Zelter mu\u00df man wohl Eskimo sein um das zu \u00fcberstehen. Die gelben B\u00e4ume sprechen B\u00e4nde \u00fcber die Temperaturen:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2436_2444_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"897\" height=\"1024\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2445_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die gelben B\u00e4ume mit den wei\u00dfen St\u00e4mmen sind aber keine Birken, es sind <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aspen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aspen<\/a> oder zu gut Deutsch Zitterpappeln. Jetzt kann man sich vorstellen, wie der bekannte Skiort zu seinem Namen gekommen ist. Auch auf der Fahrt runter, ist die gelbe Farbe dominant:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2450_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ein zweiter weitaus k\u00fcrzerer Scenic Drive f\u00fchrt nur auf 8000ft. Auf dem Weg dorthin kommt man an der grauen Klippe vorbei:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2462_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Unten rauscht ein netter Bach vorbei:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2465_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Vor der langen Fahrt zum n\u00e4chsten Campingplatz haben wir uns noch mit mitgebrachten <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Doughnut\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doughnuts<\/a> und Starbucksgetr\u00e4nken gest\u00e4rkt. Von F\u00f6hren und diesen gelben Blumen umgeben wirklich einmalig:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/DSCF2471_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die weitere Strecke der US#50 ist&#160; nicht besonders spannend. Der W\u00fcstencharakter wird deutlich st\u00e4rker sp\u00fcrbar:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0717_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"628\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Bald ist Utah erreicht und oh wunder, die H\u00f6chstgeschwindigkeit ist in Utah nun zumindest 65mi\/h (im Gegensatz zu 70 in Nevada). Aber wer die 55 von fr\u00fcher kennt ist nicht unbescheiden. Nur wenn Kurven anstehen, setzen sie die Geschwindigkeit gleich mal auf 35mi\/h. Das hier reicht schon f\u00fcr die Begrenzung:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0721_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die letzten Meilen bis zur Interstate sind ganz \u00f6de:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0722_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"523\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Auf der Interstate kam die n\u00e4chste \u00dcberraschung: 75mi\/h sind erlaubt, auf Teststrecken sogar 80!<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Der n\u00e4chste Tag war wieder eine Plan\u00e4nderung, da wir Cedar Breaks nun doch nicht auslassen wollten.
