Die Fahrt zur Downtown war schnell geschafft, lag doch unser Hotel an der Hauptstra\u00dfe (Virginia Street). Downtown sind nur ein paar Bl\u00f6cke und mehr als das <em>ber\u00fchmte<\/em> Eingangstor war bei der Besichtigung nicht drinnen (weil mehr gab es da nicht):<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0615_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Nach einem g\u2019scheiten Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck bei Del Taco (Tacos mit Schinken, Ei, Zwiebeln und scharfer So\u00dfe) und dem Volltanken des Autos ging es \u00fcber die I80 zur US#50:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die US#50 hei\u00dft in dem Bereich lonliest road und das hat schon seine Gr\u00fcnde. Auf 300 Meilen Fahrt kommen 3 St\u00e4dte. Gleich am Anfang Fallon, dann laaaaange nix und dann noch einmal zwei winzige St\u00e4dtchen. Das war es schon. Am besten beschreibt das TomTom: Nach 275mi rechts abbiegen. Zumindest nicht dieses Jahr, denn es war nicht ganz so w\u00fcstig wie sonst. Lange gerade Teile wechseln sich mit P\u00e4ssen ab. Daher ist auch das H\u00f6henprofil der Strecke ganz abwechslungsreich:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/200909182016122.png\" width=\"640\" height=\"422\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Man beachte, da\u00df die W\u00fcstenstadt Ely am Ziel 2000m hoch liegt. Sieht aber ganz flach aus. Daher sind die umliegenden H\u00fcgel weit \u00fcber 3000m hoch. Doch keine H\u00fcgel.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Im folgenden einige Impressionen, damit man sich etwas vorstellen kann. Zun\u00e4chst eine Abfahrt in eines der unendlich vielen T\u00e4ler:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0630_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"548\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Im Tal selbst folgt i.a. eine sehr lange sehr gerade Stra\u00dfe:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0633_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"488\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Am n\u00e4chsten Berg angekommen gibt es quasi eine Sonderpr\u00fcfung und es windet sich die Stra\u00dfe langsam hoch:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0636_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"561\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Manche P\u00e4sse (und die sind auch als solche angeschrieben) sind durch nahezu gerade Stra\u00dfen zu schaffen:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0638_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"520\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Wie gesagt, dieses Jahr war es weniger w\u00fcstig, weil es einen sehr nassen Winter und ein ebensolches Fr\u00fchjahr gab. Daher viel Gras:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0650_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"548\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Die kleinen St\u00e4dtchen sind nett und das Leben scheint dort sehr beschaulich zu sein:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0654_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"716\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Mit Wolken sieht aber auch die geradeste Stra\u00dfe h\u00fcbsch aus, oder?<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0656_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Auf den Bergen ist es im allgemeinen sogar gr\u00fcn. Also keine Spur von W\u00fcste (man beachte die gelb bl\u00fchenden Str\u00e4ucher entlang der Fahrbahn):<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.chbworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/IMG_0663_re5B25D.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"649\"> <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Und schon war ich in Ely, dem Ausgangspunkt f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten zwei Tage: Der Great Basin NP stand auf dem Programm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Das Hotelzimmer war schnell ger\u00e4umt und die Fahrt durch Downtown konnte beginnen.
